Neon Noir

04/09/2021

I saw you glow

under neon lights

misty eyes

caught mine

like a fly

and I should run

but that crooked smile

sells the sweetest lies

now I'm following you

further into the night

the sane don't heed a siren's call

but I'm three drinks deep

eager to step my own neck

before you lay a hand on me

I stake your place

every night after

it's not just the job

as I'm recording your laughter

and your nudity becomes a painting I

memorize

I watch you writhe

as you pry each severed limb

from a nameless torso

it's then, when painted flush

with fresh blood that you glow

the most
